Saint Mary Magdalen de’ Pazzi

The feast day of Saint Mary Magdalen de’ Pazzi was 25 May. She was born in Florence in 1566, she had a religious upbringing and entered the monastery of the Carmelite nuns there. She led a hidden life of prayer and self‑denial, praying particularly for the renewal of the Church and encouraging the sisters in holiness. Her life was marked by many extraordinary graces. She died in 1607.

Our Diploma in Spirituality has a module that introduces the life and times of St Mary Magdalen de’Pazzi, offering an
appreciation of the chief characteristics of her spirituality and reflecting on her understanding of the Eucharist and the Church. If you are interested in learning more please contact us as admin@cibi.ie.

Prayer
Father,
you love those who give themselves completely to your service,
and you filled St. Mary Magdalen de’ Pazzi
with heavenly gifts and the fire of your love.
As we honour her today
may we follow her example of purity and charity.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
